I have the above with a problem, although it will show that it is recording, when I try to play it back, all I get is a black screen with loads of interference. Any help is very much appreciated, thanks.

Are you recording from an analogue TV program (from its own tuner) or an input?
Have you any conflicting scart connections plugged in (pull out to check)
Mark the tape in a few places then load and play to make sure spools turning.

Sorry Albags, I need to know the meanings of anologue and input, but the scart connections are ok, and the tape works as I have tried another. My knowledge is extremely limited in these matters.

pps, I`ve just cleaned the heads, and guess what......it works. Yippeeeeeeeeeeee.
