my pc has started going very slow i have got rid of a lot of things on the hard drive cleared up my desk top i de fraged it re set everything but still slow im a bit old for all this stuff and would welcom any tips or hints .. thank you

See what is starting up when you switch on your pc. Start, Run, msconfig. See the Startup tab. Search on the net for a description of each process and if you can safely "untick it". If you are still not sure about using msconfig, search on the net for how to use it.

have you downloaded "Defraggler" and done a full defrag with that icebread? it is made by the same company that make CCleaner and is free http://www.piriform.com/defraggler also download CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner and run that if you have not done so already.
Try opening it up and clearing all of the dust away from the fans. If a fan is running slowly, overheating can sometimes result in your PC running even slower!
