common things that work on 2.4Ghz (the same as a DECT phones) are

Wireless networks
Microwaves
Baby monitors
Bluetooth
Radio control models
Wireless video senders.
Cordless keyboards and mice.
And obviously, other DECT phones

Plus a whole lot of other low powered radio devices, it is perfectly possible for any of these the cause interference on the phone, so if you have any off these close by keep an eye on whats turned on when you have a problem, including doing a search for wireless networks when you have the problems to see if there are any different ones.

(or it may of course just be a rubbish phone)

Don't know about phone its self. Is not old and was £60 something quid from tesco so its half decent (i hope)

But interesting list of items as
I had radio on
My bluetooth dongles in usb port on pc
My Keyboard / mouse are both wireless

so could be good contributing factors ........
we get this sometimes, with our bt verve cordless phone and found the solution is to unplug the phone cable in the back of the base ubit and plug it back in and it clears the problem.

Dave.
have you tested the socket with a corded phone?
the corded phone should be tested in the 1st incomimg socket in the house,
then if everything is ok, work back from there

wait for its next to start problem again and i'll try resolving problem with unplugging cable from base and let you know outcome
as a point of interest, broadband can still work when the phone doesnt, it only requires 1 lead, so if theres a partial break in the phone line the b/band still works which can confuse the issue somewhat..
I have the same problem NM, we bought a phone set from Tesco's. I'll try the same remedy if it happens again, useful to know.
