Hi,my laptop will not start up when plugged in i have tried taking battery out holding down power button for 30-40 seconds, then plugging power lead back in,trying lead without battery etc, everything all that happens is the battery light flashes for about 5 seconds (ORANGE) usually it is (BLUE) when charged, then it stops only flashes again when i press the power button, the charger is working ok i am sure as the little green light is lit up on the power pack, any help much appreciated, the laptop is a Toshiba A100 about 3 years old i guess could be more, its never let me down before and runs on XP,
Thanks............

Sounds like the charger ISN'T working to me. Just because the light is on on the power pack doesn't mean anything. That could be on the mains side. Does the charging light on the laptop come on?
Do you have a meter? You could measure the voltage coming out of the charger.
Does the laptop run without the battery i.e. plugged directly into mains? (sorry if you've said that in the question, but it's a bit early for me to figure out)
