We have subcribed to Sky for 8 or 9 years but are so fed up with paying for repeats that we considered getting a Freesat box (we have a Freeview built in HD ready TV). however whilst in Homebase today I noticed they were selling an HD box - the display said 'watch the World Cup on HD for free' and said you could get up to 130 channels for a one off payment of £89. Can anyone tell me if it is worth going for this or shall we stick to Freesat and no HD. I couldn't find anyone in Homebase that seemd to know enough about it with any certainty.

To be honest with you there's not much difference between a HD picture and a normal digital picture on a HD tv . It's all just aload of hype I don't think it's woth it.
If you have already got Freesat, then you can watch the world cup in HD...!

The Humax Foxsat (Freesat) I have is connected to my old Sky+ dish and I get BBC HD on channel 108 and occasional ITV HD programs on 103.
The certainly look much better to me than the same channel on freeview when they run the same programme on both. Not quite as good as my Blu-Ray player but near enough and free.
