getting a PAC code for mobile phone

IS there another way to get a PAC (personal access code) for my mobile phone besides rining my current provider. I am changing networks but want to keep the same number. I've rung 02 who I am currently with and spent 45 minutes waiting for customer service only then to be cut off!!!! did my head in nearly! I'm changing to tesco pay as you go.

ooopps PAC stands for "portin authorisation code" apparently not personal access code....but my Q still remains the same
