I sometimes watch the bbci player through both my tv and ps3 and it is much better than when I watch it on my computer. At first I thought it was because of my broadband connection, but the ps3 has put paid to that excuse.I have just got a newer graphics card, but no change. Now I am thinking that maybe the processor is the problem. It is fairly old computer but anyone else come across this problem.I have tried lowering the bandwidth when using my pc,but its just as bad.Any help would be great.Happy Christmas everyone by the way!

how much ram does your computer have?
ive posted a question on here earlier about the quality mine has no problems with the picture apart from slightly soft focus which i cant alter (its not the monitor or card) everything on the comp monitor is pin sharp
one answer was that the BBC sent it out from them on a low bit rate .... i got ths from
chuck fickens
it's a side effect of the encoding that is required to compress the video to a size small enough that you can download it fast enough to view it. (the bbc encode their lower quality stuff at a bit rate of 516Kbs which is actually pretty low)

It has over 2Gb ram,I know what you are thinking and my hubby was thinking the same way,but buying more did nothing for the graphics.I jsut dont know what to try next, apart from a more up to date pc(it uses ddr ram and an agp graphics card)Cheers for any other help(apart from taking a hammer to it :) )

Sorry deggers, just re read what you said, are you saying everyone is getting the same rubbish quality throught their computers.I mean I am fairly easy going but the quality through pc is so bad that without subtitles I cannot use it but through the ps3 its ok ish.
you need to start by being a little clearer about what the problems are, rather than just not as good or much better. what exactly are the problems you're seeing?

Also what are the full specs of the computer?

and lastly (for now, I've subscribed to this though) what version of windows and flash player do you have on the computer?
opps for got one and it's the most important thing here..

How are you connecting the computer to the TV?

Hi ChuchFickens, sorry for delay, firstly,I am not connecting pc to my tv.I am keeping the ps3/tv combo seperate from the pc/monitor(dell by the way)Specs are AMD sempron464 1.6 Ghz processor(where I think the problem may lie)AsRock k7vt4a+ motherboard,2.5 Gb ddr ram,ATI 9600 pro radeon graphics card along with windows 7 and the latest flash(sorry cannot recall version but it was only a few weeks ago that I upgraded from Vista ).So now do you see my problem?I was blaming broadband speed, but as the ps3/tv combo works great I cancelled that out.And by problems,I mean pretend you are watching a vhs video and someone keeps pressing pause then go, then pause etc.the sound is ok, but the picture is so stuttery at first then after a few minutes the whole lot is so out of sinc my only hope are subtitles(which strangly enough keep up)Hope you can help. Thanks and Merry Christmas
