Two Installations of Windows?

I have just bought a new laptop from Dell. When it arrived, Windows would not start up properly - I just had a blank screen. After speaking to one of their technicial team, I got it working by installing Windows from scratch from the Install/Repair CD that came with it. It now works fine, but when I first switch on the computer I get a screen asking me which operating system I want to use...and it gives me the option of 'Windows 7' or 'Windows 7'. It looks like it recognises both installations. Is there a way I can delete one of them, without affecting the one that does work?

Thanks very much"

your best bet is to reinstall from scratch again but select format the drive this time.

if thats not an option then you can disable the startup menu.

In vista it would be

Click start > control panal > system. then select advanced system settings in the left hand pane. Then click on the settings button in the "startup and recovery" part and take the tick out from "time to display list of operating systems"

I've not got 7 yet so can't check, but from what I've seen it's won't be too much different.
