Is it possible to get another sim card with your original number, I ask this because I was out on a boat over the weekend when my phone started to make strange noises, somebody said to take out then replace the sim card and of course I went and dropped it in the river, the problem is that the phone is on contract with O2 and all of my business cards and letter heads are printed with this number and it would cost hundreds of pounds to replace them.

O2 can easily tie an existing phone number to a new sim.

Every sim has an internal number (not a phone number) and all they need to do is "tie" your phone number to the new sim number.

I had to do this a week or so back for my son who lost his phone and sim, and TMobile were able to do it in about 10 minutes.

I just went in the TMobile shop and they did it there and then. Cost me £10.
We have O2 mobiles and needed a new sim card a few weeks back, just go into your local O2 shop and explain the situation, they replaced ours free of charge they said it could take up to 24 hours to activate it was active within about 10 minutes.
if you use o2 online you have their bluebook and blueroom and all your contacts, pics and messages are stored on there as back up too.

Thanx for your answers everyone I will go into the O2 shop today, even if it does cost a tenner it is cheaper than having to replace all my printed stuff.
