When I boot up I get a pop-up from Windows Security telling me that Zone Alarm firewall is switched off.
This raises 2 questions -

1. How does Windows security know that the firewall is switched off? Sorry if thats a stupid question, but I don't know how these things work.

2. How do I switch it back on? I've looked at the ZoneAlarm site on my PC and all seems to be in order. Both settings are at medium. I can't find any way of toggling it on or off.

Thanks in advance.

PS. It's better to ask a question and look stupid for 5 minutes than not ask the question and be stupid forever.
