Every time I turn my laptop on I am told by windows security centre that my firewall is turned off. Each time I turn it on again, without difficulty, but it is a bit of a pain. It's only happened in the last few days. Any ideas? I do also have ZoneAlarm firewall - do I perhaps not need to worry?

1 firewall 1 virus scanner ... and as many malware as you can eat.

which version of windows, which version of ZA
Do not ever have two different firewalls running at the same time.
If Windows is telling you you have no firewall on then maybe ZoneAlarm is not installed or working properly.

Open the Windows Security Centre and see what Windows say you have installed and working.

Once you turn on ZoneAlarm it turns off the Windows firewall and stays turned on.

Some malware / spyware programs try to turn off your security so run spyware checks to see if you have an nasty spyware on your PC.

Malwarebytes is one tool (there are others)

Thanks AC, used the site, and ran the scan. Nothing reported, so, using the ZoneAlarm forum I've disabled Windows Firewall. The 'problem' at my original question has disappeared.
