Windows on my PC wont start up
The following page comes up -

--------------------------------------

We apologise for the inconvenience , but Windows did not start successfully.
A recent hardware or software change might have caused this .

If your computer stopped responding , restarted unexpectedly , or was automatically shut down to protect your files and folders , choose last known good configuration to revert to the most recent settings that worked .

If a previous start up attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or because the power or reset button was pressed , if you aren't sure caused the problem , choose start up windows normally .

Safe Mode
Safe mode with networking
Safe mode with comment prompt

Last known good configuration ( your most recent settings that worked )

Start windows normally

Use up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice

Seconds until windows start .
---------

No matter what option I choose - it still comes back with the same page

Can anyone help please .

I'd probably choose Safe Mode.
Turn it off and start again if that doesn't work.
windows sounds to have died

you could try repairing windows (option on the install disc)
If it's because of malware could just go round in a circle

if you have recovery discs ... it's a new install

I'd do a new install ... start with a clean install

if you have files you'd like to recover to a stick or usb disk ... your best bet is to use one of the live linux distros such as knoppix or ubuntu
