im currently with t-mobile but now out of conrtact so been looking and o2 have some good deals but only offer an 18 or 24 month contract say if i had either and went out of work i pressume they would want there money back ....so would it be silly to enter into a contract at the present time?......wouldnt it make more sense for these companies to offer say a 12month conract.....ive never defaulted at all but with work being the way it is would it be silly???

Have a look at O2's Simplicity contract.
It works as a 1 month rolling contract. That means you can cancel your contract at any time, no minimum period above 1 month
