hi all,does anyone know if i put rca leads from my audio out on my tv to a hi with an aux in,will i be able to turn the volume down or mute it but stil get sound from the hi fi and control the volume from there?

Yes - the tv phono out level, will be compatible with a hi-fi aux in.

You might find that the mute also mutes the phono out (unlikely), but you only need reduce the tv volume, rather than mute it.
If you have Sky or Virgin you can also take phono leads from the digibox to your hi fi so that you don't have to have the tv on.
