I'm not sure.  I always thought that a phone line only supported 4 connections.  This is known as R.E.N. (ringer equivalent number) most phones have a REN value of 1 but some faxes etc have a REN of 1.5.  When you add all the REN numbers together they must not exceed 4.  You can get REN amplifiers that boost up the amps though.  Good luck.
ur right gandy--max ren no. of 4--other wise u need another line
I may be totally wrong, but in a previous place there was a phone point in every room [6 incl. bathroom].  If all had phones plugged in with ringer on the phone's ringing sound would be a bit haphazard.  When the number of phones with the ring turned on was reduced to a REN of 4 it was all OK again.  Why not try a four way adaptor plus a lead with a double socket [cheaper than new line] - or ask your phone co?  I'm sure if not all the gadgets ring you should be ok.  I maybe wrong - get it checked?
