does any1 know how I can add text to a pdf on Adobe Acrobat 8. I can't find an option for a text box anywhere??????

Do you mean add a note or annotation or actually 'edit' some text within the .pdf?
you can't using adobe.

PDF files are not normally editable, that's kinda the point of them.

if you download and install open office http://openoffice.org and then get the PDF plugin for it http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/proj ect/pdfimport

then you can open and edit PDF files in the Openoffice draw program
To edit text in Adobe go to Plotsoft.com and download
PDFill_Form_Filler.msi.

This will let you edit any pdf file.
You can also do the same thing in MS Word or wordPerfect
I agree with CF. Open Office is free and will edit acrobat files.
But to clear things up. Adobe Acrobat is the original editing software from Adobe which edits and creates pdf files. Adobe Acrobat Reader (it's been renamed Adobe Reader) only reads pdf files.
