My mobile occasionally says it doesnt have enough memory to perform a function and I need to close applications to carry on.

Ive no idea what this means as to my knowledge I dont have any applications open!

Its a Nokia N73 from Three, I have about 1500 texts, maybe 100 contacts, 1 photo and about 2 short video clips and 2 songs. Do I need to buy a memory upgrade if I want to keep the texts? Or is it a glich?

Any advice welcome - I dont understand mobiles, just a functional item for me!

What size is the current memory card? 512K? If you even have one in there - or are you just using the phone's memory?

You can get a 1 Gig card (twice the capacity of a 512) off ebay for a couple of quid.

There are bigger capacity memory cards available.

Or just delete the old texts!
the memory on that ones not the worst ive seen, at 42mb but you can buy a mimiSD card to store music/vids on

here's a review on that model

erm... Ive certainly never insterted a card, and I dont remember buying anything extra for it. So I guess Im using the phone memory. Is that not the normal way of things? Guess not!

So is it a mini SD I need? Where does it go?
The phone memory is not that large - really only meant as a secondary memory - hence the memory cards.

There's a slot for a memory card either top or bottom on that handset.

Yes, you need a Mini SD card:

Look in your user manual for how to locate/insert a memory card.
I also sometimes get that message when there's not much battery left....

Ooohhhh so thats what that is

Thanks all!
If all that above ^^^ sounds like too much hassle, just delete the 1500 texts you have on there!
