Every time I try to access Tools > Options in Internet Explorer, a message comes up stating 'This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer. Please contact your system adminstrator.' I only have the one user account which is set at admin level. Can any of you fine people help me out please? It's the Home edition, should that make a difference.

Your profile may have become corrupt. I think there is an administrator's account which is hidden. From memory: If you change the way you log on (control panel > user accounts) and see if you find the bit where you log on with ctrl + alt + delete. Here you can type in a username (administrator) and whatever you set the administrator's password. Failing that, setup another account which has full admin rights and log on as this. You can copy over all your stuff from your old profile which is in c:\documents and settings\$Lodekka$\.
I think a trojan can also cause this, have you run anti-trojan programme?
