Wow a lot of questions, not sure I can answer them all.

If you move from Tesco to Sky you WILL have to change your email address.

Make sure Sky broadband is available in your area. I enquired a while ago and Sky told me my area was not covered yet.

If you want Sky that you can stop, start, record that is called Sky+ (Sky plus)

We have multiroom and we have a Sky box in each room, and they are totally independant of each other. We can watch two different chanels in the two different rooms.

Note: I think you have to pay extra for a Sky+ box, and you definately have to pay 10 extra a month for multiroom.
You ask about multiroom in more than 1 additional room.

I think you can have multiroom in more than 1 additional room, but you have to pay 10 a month for each extra room it is in.

One more thing about the Sky+ box.

They actually run 2 cables from the dish to the Sky+ box, so you can record one program while watching another, or even record two programs at the same time.

I have to say most people who have a Sky+ box are very happy with them.

Why not phone up Sky and ask them how much the package you want will cost.
I have recently switched from Virgin Media to Sky for my broadband and we are quite some way from the local exchange so I dont get the advertised maximum speed but I was quite surprised that my download speed actually increased by almost double when the Sky service activated. Yay!!!

You will receive a wireless router from them and you do have to use this as it is hard-coded with the Sky broadband connection details which are not provided so you cannot -re-program your existing router if you have one. I do think that their router appears to be a little bit more flimsy that my exisiting Netgear one but thats life I guess.

We have Sky TV (Sky + with 1 standard multiroom), Sky Talk and Sky Surf and are most happy with it.
tigersam, im glad you answered as i am thinking about getting sky surf and talk but had haerd some bad reports in the past but not lately and so seems they have got their act together, did it take long from when you first applied to actual log on? many thanks
not too long at all. I had to wait for them to use the MAC code from Virgin but it was all done in about two weeks. I had 24 hours downtime where I couldnt use the internet but thats not a problem and should be expected.

I have also got my sister and my in-laws on Sky Surf now and they havent had any issues either so for a free or minimal charge this is an excellent service in my opinion.
thanks very much i think im going to go on it, im on bt at moment and they charge a fortune
Hi there, we're on the sky package that has everything except movies (its about 30 a month I think). We get free broadband and free evening and weekend calls on top of that (please note you still have to pay BT the 10 a month line rental though on top of that)
We got the wireless router about 10 days after we ordered it and suffered no loss of service during the changeover at all. The broadband service is generally very reliable and fast and the free calls obviously save us pennies.
I think we paid 99 for the sky+ box and it is the best invention ever. We don't have multiroom but I believe it is 10 extra per room as posted above.
I set up a yahoo account so it doesn't matter if I ever change broadband providers in the future, the email address can be used no matter what.
