When I convert documents (word ppt excel jpegs - anything!) into a pdf file it is showing up really small on the page with a huge margins. This has only happened recently so Im not sure if Ive pressed a button by mistake. Things will print ok if I remove the margins - but its a nuisance for long documents that dont need printing. I hope someone can advise me how to stop this. Many thanks indeed. J

what pdf prog are you using?

the basic principle is that you snapshot a complete document and paste it into another

the original document has margins ... as does the pdf
so you end up with what you describe ...
I think it's fair to say (for non commercial printing) that generally you treat the document's margins as normal

and set the PDF margins as small as possible

to further complicate matters ... you have also to set the paper sizes .... (A4)
this is usually taken from the machine's default settings .... but quite often it will change to US Letter ... which will also reduce the size.

check the page size settings for all the devices ... printer, office, pdf ......

Thanks for your reply AC. I'm using PDF Converter Professional. I've checked the margin /page size settings and they are ok in the originals. This even happens when I convert documents received from others via e-mail - so Im flummoxed now!
at a guess then it's the PDF software

if the originals are OK
you need to check the settings in PDF Converter

I'm looking at mine(pdffactory) - the printer driver
my printing preferencies margins are set at 1.9mm, a4, portrait

failing that ... you could try uninstalling / re-installing the software
