windows vista control panel

I have a new computer with windows vista pre-installed, every now and again it wont let me access the control panel or any of the features in it (personalisation, back up and restore centre) restarting the pc usually fixes the problem, Ive been told a patch can be downloaded from microsoft, any ideas?

i am having problems with vista anyway i have set mine up in the classic mode but try asking this question in Technoloyg you might get more response
