Is DVI High-Definition?

I can't find a suitably-sized monitor to support HDMI output for my PC, I also have DVI output, will this be High Definition or standard? Or at least will it be good quality? Thanks =)

Hi 'steelie2006' ......the DVI connection will support high definition video. .......the main differece between DVI and HDMI is that the HDMI connection carries the audio as well, but the DVI carries only the video and you need a seperatr connection for the audio.
Are you using Vista?

DVI is perfectly capable of carrying HD content. However, HDMI was created with lots of extra 'security routines' to try and stop you from watching illegally downloaded movies etc.

With Vista, you'll be required to use HDMI if you want to watch HD content.
