I'm sure the answer to this is staring me in the face, but I rarely use Exel.
Anyway, a simple sum, I'm subtracting the contents of one cell from the contents of another, ie 809.03 minus 33, but I get the answer 776, not 776.03. Any ideas what I need to do to make the pennies (decimal places) appear in the answer?

You need to change the format of the cell to display the decimals.

Many ways to achieve this - probably easiest to right-click the cell, select Format Cells..., Number, Currency, OK.
