Not really a question, but i wanted to share this...

"President Bush may like to be seen as a swaggering tough guy with a penchant for manly outdoor pursuits, but in a new book one of his closest allies has said he is afraid of horses.

Vicente Fox, the former president of Mexico, derided his political friend as a "windshield cowboy" a cowboy who prefers to drive and "the cockiest guy I have ever met in my life".

He recalled a meeting in Mexico shortly after both men had been elected when Mr Fox offered Mr Bush a ride on a "big palomino" horse.

Mr Fox, who left office in December, recalled Mr Bush "backing away" from the animal.

''A horse lover can always tell when others don't share our passion," he said, according to the Washington Post.

Mr Bush has spoken of his fondness for shooting doves and cutting brush on his Crawford ranch in Texas, which he bought in 1999.

The property reportedly has no horses and only five cattle."

I have to say that I dislike the way that many seek to draw attention to things like this. Does it really mean anything if Bush doesn't like horses?

There's plenty of justifications that people may have for despising Bush, butI can't really see his attitude towards horses is a very good one.

Bah humbug!

If it was revealed he liked horses a bit too much Waldo I reckon that would change a fair few stances on him.

I mean, have you never seen the cruelty to animal debates on here?!

I'll leave it though as Gromit has a tendency to get himself in trouble on threads involving animals.

Heh, heh, heh...

Isn't the Dove a symbol of Peace?

Quite Freudian therefore that Bush spends his idle moments shooting them for fun.

China Doll,

You are not trying to get me in bother are you?
I remember reading some years ago that Dubya' s image consultants had hired someone to teach him to walk as if he had bread rolls in his armpits. This was supposed to make him look more macho.
Who believes the 'pretzel' story?
I thought it was '...the olive branch is a sign of peace and hopefullness the dove...' Or words to that effect?? Not sure though. Either way, I agree!

Would I do that do ya Groms>/b>?

So out of interest, how do you feel about shooting doves for fun? ;0)

anne, the only thing I don't believe about Bush is that he's a lot smarter than he pretends to be.
Sorry! Shouting again... Whoops.
