How do some people change the colour of the text in their answer, or make some words appear in bold? Sorry if this is a daft question, but I can't do it!

You need to use a little basic HTML programming....stick with me it's not that hard.

To make something bold you simply put this in front of the word (B) but rather than the ( ) brackets use the< > ones (I have to use different brackets to illustrate or they would disappear)....after the word simply repeat with a / before the B to turn the bold off.

To get other things happening you simply change the letter.....I gives you italics....U gives an underline....and a P will give you a new paragraph.

You can of course go mad with it but the editor frowns upon this sort of stuff butit's good fun every now and again.

hooray, it worked! Another one of life's little mysteries solved, many thanks for that.
For a short course on these and further html 'tricks', click http://www.htmlgoodies.com/primers/basics.html and a link will take you to a website with a set of basic lessons. Just click on the various 'primer' headings once you get there and work your way through them. Good luck!
