I believe that the only way you can get round this problem is to copy the disk to your pc then create a dvd, using appropriate software. I presume you have already tried playing the disc on your Dvd player.

I am surprised that the camera allows the recording process without prior formatting. I know that if you place an unformatted disc in the latest Panasonic Dvd recorders, you are presented with a screen asking if you wish to format.
i have a sony dvd camera & i have to "finalise" the dvd before it'll play on dvd player.this comes up as a menu option before ejecting disc.hope this helps.

I have tried to finalise the disc I have never had this problem before but I cannot finalise the disc and my pc wont reconize the disc in it's present format is it possible to transfer from the disc to the pc whist the disc is still in the camera or is there some software i can download preferably free
If you can play the disc from your camera, you should be able to connect a lead between camera dv output and pc dv input, assuming of course that such input/output sockets exist.
