Just look on the tool bar and there is a matching symbol - just click it or add more buttons if the symbol isnt on your toolbar
Go to Format > Reveal formatting.
This will open a new pane, on the right hand side of the screen. At the bottom of that pane, there's a box labelled 'Show all formatting marks'. There shouldn't be a tick in that box but it sounds as if you might find one there. Click to remove the tick. (If you find that there's no tick, try clicking to put it in and then clicking again, to remove it). Click the 'X', next to the words 'Reveal formatting', at the top of the pane, to close it.
