Hello. I'm going on a trip and will be taking lots of photo's. Is there a gadget upon which I can view and save photo's, re-use the card and then transfer the saved photo's from the gadget to my computer on return, or should I just take lots of cards and sort it out on return?

There are lots of devices which will do what you want but if you bought a 1gb or 2 gb card it should have more than enough room for what you want. My 1GB card used in an 8 megapixel camera holds about 450 photos at best resolution.

You could also ask a shop to burn them to a CD for you. Assuming you are going somewhere with photo shops and not backpacking in Outer Mongolia.
You can get gadgets that do this for you, but they're expensive. You're best just getting a few 1GB cards, as Machecoul suggests. My camera will use a 1GB card after about 250 photos.

Thank you very much. Cards it is !!
I would still pop into a PC shop whilst on your hols and get your pics put on CD as a back up if poss!!
slow down there folks how much is that new card going to cost ? depending on what your up to an external backup device is not a bad idea, if you need a portable HDD anyway then it will serve both functions, I just got a DigimateIII from amazon for 120 ans it has an 80 GB hard disk in it, you can also get a 40 GB version. I shoot in raw format not jpg and this requires much more space in my case 13.4 MB per photo so each 2 GB load of card only takes 147 photos but with this device I can take a total of 5750 photos plus 147 on the card, of course it depends on how serious you are, I am serious and also wanted about 80 Gb external hard drive so it was a perfect solution, being battery powered it does not have the problem my old portable disk does having to be connected to a modern usb port else it can't draw enough power, mine came with an external charger but it will also charge on the usb port of my computer

Thank you both. I'm going by coach on a uni Gothic architectural study of Northern France requiring lots of pictures for later work. I have an Olympus camera which takes xD-Picture Cards to maximum size 512 MB. Thunderchild, is the Digimate such that all I need to take is the camera and Digimate, then insert the card in the Digimate and store the pictures, format the card, take more pictures and repeat the process as necessary?
