Burning to disc from I-tunes

Have tried to burn downloads in I-tunes for the 1st time. When trying play disc back its just a loud high pitched noise. Anyone know what i am doing wrong?

Goto edit->preferences, then to advanced and to burning. Is it set to burn as an audio CD?

If not, and you want it to play on your regular hifi CD player, then make it like that.
