Recently installed wireless/keyboard/mouse, however after switching off computer at mains, (switch off wall socket), when I switch computer back on the mouse/keyboard don't work until I re-tune them. Customer service for this product say don't switch off at mains, but this doesn't seem correct to me. Anybody enlighten me?

Whilst the mouse and keyboard unit are wireless and will broadcast at the same frequency whether you turn the machine off at the mains or not, it seems your reciever modules that are plugged either into a usb slot or into the PS2 connectors need power to retain there recieving settings. When you shut off the mains power they will lose the frequency settings that your wireless devices are transmitting on and presumably revert to a default. If you power you machine down and turn the power supply off with the switch at the back rather that at the wall you should eliminate this problem.

thats done the trick, but my previous cordless mouse still retained its memory when switched off at mains sckt. Also spoke to a friend who says he can switch off at mains and his cordless mouse works ok when powered backup. So I'm still not sure whether I've got a faulty receiver. Anybody else come across this problem with cordless mouse/keyboard?
