Why dont CD songs that I copied onto my computer via Windows Media player work on my mp3 player? The ones I downloaded from the net work fine and the CD songs work fine on the Media Player. What can I do?

If you use Windows media player you won't get mp3 files but wma files. Presumably your mp3 player doesn't support wma. You need to use another ripper such as the free version of MusicMatch

Right, thank you! How about if I change the filename of the song from .wma to .mp3?
No that won't work. You need to get a piece of software know as a 'ripper'. There are plenty of free ones around. Try here...

Copy
the files from you CD onto your hard drive and then run your ripper to convert them into mp3 files.
