If you pay 10 / month for Sky multi room and get the sky plus as well, does that mean you can record sky on both boxes or just the main one?

If you've only got one sky plus box then yes
Only if both boxes are Sky+ and each box has two feeds from the dish. The normal set-up is a Sky+ box in the sitting room (recordable) and an ordinary Sky box in the secong location (non-recordable). The second location will have exactly the same package as the main box.
