i had a dv camcorder, it uses mini tapes, and i want to know how i go about transferring videos from it to the pc. also, when u install a pci expansion card (in this case one with 2 firewire slots on) do you need drivers for it? cos i didnt recieve any with mine....

The DV cable has a fire wire plug on the other end? do you have the software to play the video once its downloaded.
I'm not sure, but I don't think you need software for the fire wire card.

i have the software for the digital video, and i have it all connected properly

im starting to think it hasnt picked up cos theres drivers needed for the new pci card i put in
play the video on the camera with it all plugged in, then it should pick it up!! Well, worth a go, thats what I do on mine!!

Yes, the camera has to be in play mode, before the PC will recognize it. Then click on START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>CAMERAS/SCANNERS and tyou should see your camera listed
