We have a Belkin wire-free router. It is about 2 years old, as are the computers it (Dell) operates, along with two pinters (Oki and HP) It operates on BT broadband. The problem is that it will work fine for three or four weeks and then for no reason (it seems) it disconects itself from the internet and we then have to set the damm thing up all over again. It might do this five or six days in a row each night overnight, then it is fine again! As an aside point, when we set it up it will often not connect the first three or four times, and then, again for no reason we can see, it connects. Any ideas before I throw I at the wall?

The first thing that comes to mind is you do not have a password for the admin page (mine is 192......etc)

It could be your neighbour is accessing your router admin and changing the settings.

Is this a possibility?

Its an idea. At the moment there is no password but we had the trouble long before we took it off. Still, it has got worse of late so we have put the password back on. Any other thoughts?

Many thanks.
I found my old Belkin router to be a bit of trouble. Try going to Belkin's website and downloading the latest firmware for it, which might help.

Finally, definitely get a password on, as well as for the wireless signal, as Ethel suggests.
