Is there any real difference between one from Tesco for 25 and one from (say) Toshiba for 75? Its for my Mum, so don't want anything too technical and don't want a hard disc, just something that does the job. Are there any reliability issues with the cheaper ones? Thanks.

Mine was only 24 from Currys and works perfectly. Make sure you get one with 2 Scart sockets though.

Yes, I'd sussed out the 2 scarts. Thanks for mentioning it though.

Try checking out www.megalithia.com. Their info is much more informative and exact than the "official" ones when it comes to finding out if you can receive a signal.

sdds, we got a cheap one from Currys that didnt require an external power supply/transformer - helped to cut down on the clutter of wires etc. Worth bearing in mind.
ZebUK. I have just read your response to my suggestion of using Megalithia. It appears that I shall have to lead you by the hand to find the correct web site Please follow this carefully:- www.megalithia.com/elect/terrain.html.

There, now you can see that it is a mine of info. and not much to do with rocks at all!
