I am thinking of buying one of the new ipod nanos (8gb) I currently own a mac with itunes but it is not the new version (7) will the old version be compatible with this new ipod? I know the new version is free to download but it is for OS X 10.3.9 or later and I have OS X 10.3.3. How would I update the operating system if it isn't compatible? Thanks.

You can freely update to 10.3.9, and in fact you should do not, because it'll contain security fixes.

I think you clikc the Apple logo top-left, click "about this mac", and then click the software updates button, or something like that...

And then get iTunes7, which will be fully compatible with the new iPod.
