I am pretty knowledgable on PCs and computers but have never used MSN Messenger.

My teenage son, who is slighlty disabled, has been using MSN Messenger for a while and built up a large contact list.

I now want to move all his MSN Messenger information to another PC.

Anyone done this ?

Is there anything else I need to move apart from contacts?

I want him to be able to use MSN Messenger on the new PC with exactly the same set up as he has now.

we have msn and bought new pc in january. you dont need to move contacts. once you install msn on new pc using the same address your contacts will show up on new pc. all you have to do once you install msn is to select the option of existing a/c on new pc ( something like that ) the only things you would lose are the emotions that your son may have added as they are stored to pc not msn a/c but then he can collect them on new pc again. hope this helps you.
Yea as long as your know the account name and password, they'll just transfer. The contacts are stored on msn's servers.

You'll lose emoticons as said above and probably any photos too used as the avatar thingys. But that's just a case of copying them across and adding them into msn again.
