Try www.dtg.org.uk/ and click on Connection Wizard. Might help you.

I may be missing something here, but:

I would connect your sky decoder to both your DVD recorder and the TV via the two scart outputs (you'll need to configure the input for the DVD recorder), then run the DVD recorder output into the Video recorder, and video to TV. That way your creating a circuit for the the signal to run directly to your TV from the Sky box (for the best picture quality), and, from sky into both your DVD and Video recorders (and TV so you can view what you've recorded).

This will leave you with free Scart outputs if you wish to attach an 'AV sender' to view either Sky or your recordings in other parts of the house. Much like my own configuration. Hope you can follow my ramblings, ask if you get stuck.

If you get on to dtg.org.uk/ Click on Consumer then Connection Wizard.

thanks both of you have been a big help, after following your advice i can now use all the items mentioned to play back on my tv and have no problem watching sat tv, but i am still having a bit of trouble getting my dvd recorder (not player) and video to pick up the tv channels from the sat box. i cannot get a signal from both video and dvd recorder to start scaning for stations?. dtg.org.uk does cover a dvd player with one scart connection but not a dvd recorder with two scart connnections.

i did make a bit of a mess with my first question (sorry) i have a sat box (sky) a video recorder, dvd recorder and tv, all have two scart connections, is it possible to connect all four together and still be able to record from tv to video, tv to dvd and from video to dvd. thanks. Lawrence

Having just recently installed my DVD recorder, one thing to watch out for is configuring the Sky connection.

When using a Scart lead you will NOT find the signal using the default 'scan for channels' setting, but instead you'll need to look for a way to tell the DVD recorder that the 'input' is scart.

This is rarely made clear. On my system the remote has a button called 'source' which I had to press repeatedly to 'scroll' through the various input options, i.e. (in my case), 'tuner', 'composite', 'scart' etc, once the picture appears, you've cracked it. On your video/DVD recorder do you have other inputs? (i.e. composite - or red, white and yellow inputs). If so you can tape dvds and vice versa using those to send the signal back and forth without switching.
