I am having a problem with my Ipod. My hard drive crashed a while back and everything was wiped including ITunes. I reinstalled it and proceeded to add a couple of hundred songs onto the library. Mt Ipod still had the songs from my previous library, some of which I no longer wanted and I couldn't get rid of these tracks without restoring my IPod. So I now have a full library, an empty Ipod and Itunes wont allow me to update my Ipod with the new library. When you go to File that option isn't accessible.

Please help as I'm very confused.

P.S. My Ipod used to show up on the Itunes screen as Soo's Ipod, but now it just says Ipod

same thing happened to me too.. ipods are very sensative when ur pc crashes. and itunes is a very unstable program too... all i did was plug in my ipod and on my computer i right clicked it and clicked format.. it was the only way to get it working again.also i found a very handy program that allowes you to copy songs from your ipod to your pc if they get deleted..its called ipod agent ull have to find a keygen for it to get the full version.
Program to copy tunes from iPod to computer: yamipod. It's free, so no keygen needed.

scoobysoo: have you tried to use the iPod utility to completely re-format the iPod? Not just doing the quick restore thing, but completely formatting it with the iPod utility?
