Since it was first used my mouse centrewheel when clicked on a link would open it in a new tab.
I've just changed the batteries in the mouse and have lost that function.
How do I restore it?

The mouse is a Logitech cordless optical.
Windows XP
Firefox.

You should have a logitech application running (mine does anyway), SetPoint?

If so, there will be a mouse setup program that lets you assign functions to keys. Check what your middle button is set to, and if it's not already, set it to "middle button". Mine defaults to a page zoom.
