Hey guys and gals! I recently jumped on the ipod wagon but im now stuck as to how to get my songs from Windows Media Player onto itunes. I need someone to explain things in simple terms for me because im just not following how to work my new toy :O(

OK, so your files that are currently in Media Player are somewhere on your computer, right? Some folder, somewhere. Know where? If you do, just open iTunes, and click file -> add folder. Then find the folder that has all your music, and click Add. iTunes will import all your music for you.

I don't want to complicate things. The solution above may not work if:


Your songs are DRMed, ie. you bought them and downloaded them legally on the internet. The only way around this is to burn them to cd or dvd and then rip them using iTunes.


Your songs are in WMA format, in which case you will need to convert them to mp3 or AAC. I'm pretty sure that iTunes on Windows can convert them.


Now you have an iPod you are probably best to steer clear of Media Player as it is generally not compatible with iPods, unless of course you plan to buy non Apple mp3 players in the future.
