I recently got a new computer and have also got broadband, but it's the one where I have a certain amount of hours, so I put in a cable etc to the phone. So far so good. I want to be able to put my music on the computer, but when I put a cd into the harddrive, it doesn't read the name of the cd or artist. Do I have to be online for it to read it? (I am not at home now so I can't experiment and I can't phone the computer people up).

I am not a computer whizz and am new to all this MP3 stuff and copying and burning and ripping (sounds rude!!) so any help appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, you have to be connected so that it can check and on-line database. It looks at the number of tracks and the total time of the CD. It will popup and give you a list of names to choose from. Then you just pick one!

If you can't get on the internet at home you can edit the track names manually by typing them in.
