Games are notorious for upsetting computers. Check if you have the latest drivers for the video and sound card, the latest DirectX, OS service pack, check whether the game developer has released a "patch" or whether someone else has your problem (and subsequent fix) on the game's message board. Interestingly, the screen memory dump will give an indication of which driver has caused the "invalid error" or whatever (eg nvidia.dll has caused...) so if you post the first few line it would be more helpful. Good luck!
