laptop mouse is not working

it's one of those that you just move your finger over, it stopped working yesterday does anybody know how to fix it or is it a repairers job?

It's called a trackpad.

I had this happen when I first bought my laptop. I had pressed F7, which disables it.

It took me a few hours to work out why it wasn't working.

It may be as simple as that with yours. My F7 button has a hand symbol, with a pointing finger.
