Which cable do I need to buy to listen to my ipod through my stereo. In the apple store the AV cable does not mention music or stereo, only video and pictures through TV. In a more expensive box set though it implies that you can use the AV cable for stereos, but it is not mentioned elsewhere and I can't find a definite cable or lead that would work.

does your stereo have AUX inputs on the back? (two phono plugs, likely).

if so, just go to your local electronics shop (independant, radio shack, dixons, something like that), and get a 3.5mm male to two male phono lead. then just plug to 3.5mm end into the headphone port of your iPod, and the other two into the AUX plugs on the back of your hifi.

You can get a 5mm jack to 2x phono lead as fo3nix suggests from tescos for less than 2 quid. That will do the trick if you have a half decent stereo.
