I have Corel PhotoPaint installed on my Windows 10 laptop and I want to choose this to be the default programme to open my jpg and jpeg files. I go to Start/Settings/choose default apps, but Photopaint is not offered as an app to pick. Currently I first have to open PhotoPaint, then get to the file from within the programme. It's not a problem, just a slight nuisance. Is there a way round this please?

Go to the file, right click. Select 'open with'. If Corel doesn't come up there is a search option.

You should have an option of open 'once' or 'always open with' this program. Select 'always open with'.

Thank you, chelle7272. I did get to that point and the Search the Microsoft Store was offered, but PhotoPaint is already installed, so that didn't work for me. I'd prefer it to offer a 'Search the computer.'

I don't use Windows 10 any more. On Windows 11, there's an option 'Choose another app'. If you do manage to find such an option, the most likely location of PhotoPaint is C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86).

In Windows 10:
Right click on a jpeg file, select 'Open with' > 'Choose another app'
Scroll down the list of apps, select 'More apps ↓'
Scroll down, select 'Look for another app on this PC'
In the file browser window navigate to the location of the executable for PhotoPaint and select it.
