The colour has changed to a washed out fawn colour.  Is it in its last legs?

Check in settings - display and brightness.

Eye comfort mode makes my screen look washed out, your tablet might have different modes and filters.

Check accessibility under settings, too, especially colour correction.

I can't think why your tablet should suddenly adjust settings but it's worth a try

I must have accidentally activated 'blue shade'.  It says a blue light makes it difficult to get to sleep.

All good now.
