Audio Output Device

Hi all,

I've just bought a refurb laptop on ebay.

However, there is no sound, the laptop says that there is no  Audio output device installed.

Is it easy to install one, how, and do I need to download something?

One would expect a laptop motherboard to supply any sound facility.

 

It may be possible to plug in a box, but it sounds to me as if there is a fault in your "refurbished" device.

Have you looked in settings to see whether the sound is disabled?

You can also run the Audio troubleshooter. 

Enter settings. Enter System. Enter Troubleshoot/Other Troubleshooters. Next to audio click run, and follow any on screen instructions.

Might sound like a daft question but do you have any bluetooth phones or a speaker? If so does that work?

You can buy headphone jack converters to usb, not sure if that would help.

Have you contacted the seller ? They may know of the issue and how to resolve it without a return.
