Amazon Alexa Pop
Hi techie ABers ... I just can't get my Alexa Pop to work again. I had to unplug it when we had the decorators in (it was working perfectly well then) and then decided to take it to France and see if it would work in our rented gite (but it didn't!). obviously brought it back home and once the decorators had gone and we were putting the bedroom back together again, I plugged Alexa in but couldn't get it to work as before. Have tried everything ... spent so much time on it and the instructions given just don't seem to bring it back to life again .... Hope someone can help, please ....

Before I unplugged it (for about a fortnight) it was brilliant, played most radio stations, told me the time, told me about notifications etc ... (had it in the bedroom), perfectly fine. And now, I have tried setting it up via the Alexa app on my phone - absolutely nothing. I should add here that there is a kink in the cable which came with the device - could that possibly be the reason perhaps? And yes, a blue light is showing and when I follow the instructions in the app, lights come on and off (including the orange light) .... do you think it's worth just binning it and getting a new one?
Have you tried taking it back to factory settings? Easy to do, instructions here

In case the instructions didn't mention it, make sure your Alexa is connected to your home Wi-Fi network. Seeing the orange light indicates that it needs to reconnect. After being unplugged and moved, it needs to be reconnected.
Open the Alexa app on your phone.
Go to the "Devices" tab (it usually looks like a little house or a set of icons at the bottom of the screen).
Tap on "Echo & Alexa."
Select your Alexa Pop device from the list.
Tap on "Wi-Fi Network and Internet."
Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Alexa to your home Wi-Fi. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter your password.
Thank you everyone - I thought I'd have another shot at getting my Alexa Pop to work, so gave myself another 15 minutes of trying. And .... hurrah ... I've finally got it to work, and I can ask Alexa to play whatever station I want, or tell the time, etc. Absolutely thrilled, glad I gave it one more go - and thanks to everyone for all their help today - much appreciated. Haven't the first idea how it did - I sort of combined all the knowledge that you had given me and ... bingo! You've made an elderly non-techie lady very happy today! It's been winding me up for a couple of weeks! Hurray - so I shall be taking that replacement Alexa Pop off my Amazon wish list!
