Every Operating System is vulnerable, Apple is no exception. Fortunately when vulnerabilities are found they are quick to close them and updates on Apple devices are easy. Bobbisox, updates are best done through the settings app (Cog icon).

Yep, I did the iOS security updates on my phone and iPad last night. My Mac is fine.
Gromit do you have a link for me to to do this please?

Bobbi, start here:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201222

Read the section "Get the latest software updates from Apple"

Ideally, read it actually on your Apple device(s), then you can click the links.
thanks Ellipsis
Thanks for the heads up. If we do this 15.6.1 update, should we be OK?
my phone, ipad and watch are all on automatic updates, is that all I need?
Should be, but some Apple customers are claiming this a ruse by Apple to force consumers to accept the update which, they claim, will slow their device to a crawl which will 'encourage' them to buy the latest device.
I updated with no problems - yet.
I think , I hope I have the latest updates on mine
Hi Barry
I hear that every time a new iPhone is about to be launched. I've never noticed any difference myself.
rocky, some Apple fans insist that their devices are never vulnerable to any sort of threat; others insist Apple use cunning tricks to make their devices obsolete.
Sensible Apple device owners like you and me seem to be a bit of a rarity

thanks Gromit, I will remember that
My iphone is set for automatic updates but just checked in settings and it found an update 15.6.1 needed for security reasons. Its running now; I advise everyone to check too just to be safe.
Same here Maydup, done it around an hour ago
Yes, just found that my work iPhone needed that update too!

The stupidity of Apple systems means that unless I put bank card details in, it shows as an incomplete set-up, leaving a notification icon on the app button so it looks like there's an update when there isn't.

Software updates are not done through the App store, they are done through your settings. Click on the cog icon, go to General and then Software. The updates are free so no credit card is needed.
apple, shmapple!
I never said anything about the app store. I said the app button.

Thanks, but I've had iphones and ipads for about 14 years now.
